Sam Chetkin; acting, music and community service
Updated: Nov 26, 2019
15-year-old singer-songwriter Sam Chetkin has had quite the busy summer acting and playing shows with the All You Got Tour. After winning the Boston Sings open mic competition and recently being selected as a finalist in New England Sings, Sam has a lot of exciting things to be proud of and to look forward to. He is a budding actor with great roles under his belt, and he is also planning on recording his first original single "You Remind Me of Something" at Red 13 Studios.
Sam participated in Broken Leg
Productions rendition of "Rent", which was a 5-week process with 3 shows. Sam played the second lead playing guitar, Roger. The play follows a year in the life of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York’s Lower East Side, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS. Sam loved learning and acting out his character's point of you. It was a great experience that he was honored to be a part of.
This past summer, Sam also acted in "Frozen Junior", working with Middle School Aged Kids. He really enjoyed working with the younger kids, acting as a role model. Frozen is a lighthearted story that was adapted for this play by the Melrose Center of Performing.
He played over a dozen shows with the All You Got Tour, both acoustically and with the All You Got Tour Band. He graced stages all over New England, including the Hampton Beach Seashell Stage, Lawn on D, Loretta's Last Call and multiple other local captive audience events. It was a fun experience to step out his acoustic guitar down, grab the mic and sing lead with a full band. He covered songs from Meatloaf, Boys of Summer and other popular rock acts.
Sam Chetkin has officially set a date to begin recording his first single “You Remind Me of Something” at Red13 Studios in Framingham. He's excited to get in the studio and hear his first original song be recorded. Stay tuned for more information regarding his release.
Sam is a dedicated young performer, both on an acting stage and a music platform. He loves connecting with his audience and truly feels the music he is a part of. You can follow him on social media via @samchetkinmusic.
